Balmoral Castle
The river that runs between the car park and the castle entrance is stunning but crossing the bridge with a bus coming behind you is scary. I tried to make a run for it but wasn't sure I would make it so I squeezed up against the rail. The bus driver took pity on me and stopped so I could get across the bridge.
The walk from the gate to the castle is a little hike.
I thought this sign was a little funny especially since it is on the castle grounds.
I thinks this is the ice house were they used to store their meat.
This is where they would process the animals that they killed on the property.
The castle is impressive from the outside.
The gardeners are hard at work making sure that the Royal family will have enough fresh vegetables for their visit in August.
Of course you need beautiful flowers for the castle too.
View of the castle from the garden.
You know you need a garden cottage because a castle is not enough.
After visiting the grounds we visited the ballroom which is the only room open to the public. They had a display dishes that are used by the family everyday that were extraordinary. I really did prefer visiting the Cawdor castle and grounds. I can however see why the Royal family would enjoy spending time here, as they would be able to have some peace and quiet out of the limelight.
