Entering Scotland, Wallace Monument, Sterling & Arriving in Inverness
Charleen and I are stuffed into the backseat.
Crossing the border into Scotland.
We could see the Kelpies from the highway.
We stopped at the Wallace Monument in Sterling.
It is free to walk up the path to the monument. Which has a very nice pathway with lots of carvings.
We were able to go in and climb the spiral staircase 246 steps to the top.
There were three levels with rooms of exhibits.
The views from the top were beautiful.

Roger and Ben dropped us off for us to walk around Sterling Castle. We were not able to go in because we had not prebooked tickets and they didn't have anything available until late in the day.
We walked down through the cemetary.
We told them that we would meet them at the Sterling Distillary.
Of course we couldn't leave there without making a purchase.
As if we didn't climb enough stairs today. Our apartment in Inverness had 70 steps up to it.
We were right across from the Castle.
After dropping our bags off we set out to find dinner. The town was super quiet.
Our evening view from our apartment.
