Morpeth

Today we took a drive to Morpeth.

We visited Carlisle Park which was beautiful.

This clock was donated to the town in honor of a past mayor.  If you watched closely you could see the minute hand move.

When we walked into this area of the garden you could smell the roses.

The Damask Rose
When we got back to the house I started looking up to see if I could buy the Damask Rose at home.  I will definitely keep my eye out for it.  If you like the smell of roses this is the flower for you.

We were told by a nice lady walking her dog to follow the path and we would find a castle at the top.

I took a little detour up some stairs and found that the hills were alive with the sound of music.  Oh I guess this is the wrong country.  But that is what came to my mind when I topped the hill.

The views of the town below were nice.

But the sneak peak of the castle was magical.

You can actually book a stay here.  But beware you could have tourist walking across your grass in the front yard.

But they wont be seeing into your backyard.

It was sad to see how many young men died from this small town in the World Wars.

We circled around the wall and came back in for another view.

Then headed back down into the beautiful garden below.

We then headed into the city center

across a footbridge.

I love how the towns decorate with flowers everywhere.

I think I would trust my money to this bank.  It looks like it has been around for awhile.

Time to head back to the car.  We really enjoyed our visit.
